The expressway connecting Sahiwal and Samundri to be constructed: Governor Punjab

Lahore: Sahiwal will be connected to the Lahore-Karachi motorway via a two-way expressway from Sahiwal to Samundri interchange next year, according to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony for the 8-kilometer long Sahiwal by-pass in Sahiwal on Thursday, he said the 9-billion-rupee scheme would be included in Punjab’s next fiscal budget’s Annual Development Program, and that the government is focused on completing development projects so that promises made to the people are kept. On the special intervention of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar announced that the reconstruction and carpeting of the Lahore-Sahiwal GT Road project, which will cost 3.059 billion rupees and be completed in phases by June 2022, has begun.
