PM to perform groundbreaking of LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments in Lahore
Punjab Minister for Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed Thursday announced that the ground-breaking of 4,000 LDA City Naya Pakistan apartments would be performed by Prime minister Imran Khan on Friday, April 9, 2021.The LDA City Naya Pakistan project will build 35,000 apartments in the metropolis, with 4,000 apartments scheduled to start construction on Friday following the ground-breaking ceremony, he said. The Punjab government had appointed all development authorities in Lahore and other major cities in the province to establish housing units for low-income residents, according to the provincial minister, and the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will construct 35,000 apartments in various parts of the metropolis. According to Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, the Punjab Housing and Town-planning Agency (PHATA) of the Punjab Housing Department has implemented affordable housing rules that enable any private developer to apply for housing scheme. The proposal would be accepted within 60 days of the application’s filing, and the private developer would receive various services. He added that in return, the developer would build 20% low-cost housing units in the scheme. According to the housing minister, these plans are being expanded in Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi in order to offer homes to the country’s low-income community, as per the prime minister’s vision.
