On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone for a low-cost housing project in Sargodha as part of the government’s ambitious Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. The project was briefed to the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Khan, speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony, said that due to lack of resources, the average person cannot even consider owning a home. He said, “We have introduced this scheme for the poor and labourers.”
The prime minister said, “In Punjab, small cities are being developed alongside big cities.” “Through this initiative, the have-nots will be able to realize their dream of owning a home. They will get a house by paying a monthly installment of Rs.10,000 for ten years.”
A total of 1,175 three-marla houses will be built in six locations throughout Sargodha district under this program. This project would be supported by the Punjab government, which will provide land and other resources.
Frontier Works Organization will be in charge of the construction (FWO). Punjab Bank will have a mortgage facility that will enable eligible people to pay for a home in easy installments. This housing project has received 33,528 applications, and the houses will be distributed through balloting.
