FE&PT Shafqat Mehmood Organizes Annual Inter-Zonal Games
ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) Shafqat Mehmood on Thursday inaugurated the annual inter-zonal sports competitions organised by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
The minister while inaugurating the FDE annual inter-zonal games said that all the students who participated in the sports activity have given good performance and such activities would continue in the future also.
“This program is a sign of improvement after COVID-19,” he said. The annual inter-zonal games have been inaugurated under the auspices of the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad. Heads of institutions and teachers attended the function. Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood was the chief guest while Parliamentary Secretary Wajiha Akram also graced the occasion.
Director General Federal Directorate of Education Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik while delivering the welcome address said that for many years, we were not conducting curriculum activities and sports programs which have now been revived and these programmed will continue in future.

He said that a playground would be constructed in every educational institution on which work would be done. He said that modern science labs and libraries are also being set up in educational institutions.
Addressing the function, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that the education sector has also suffered due to Corona. We also have to pay attention to education. He said that the country can be developed only through education. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was also paying full attention to the field of education and fully supported the sports event. He congratulated the administration and specially commended the teachers and asked the children to clap for the teachers.
President of the Association, Malik Amir Khan, while congratulating the Director-General, Federal Directorate of Education, Prof. Dr. Ikram Ali Malik, said that such positive activities in educational institutions would also improve the educational environment and give an opportunity to the children to hone their skills.
