1,000 Plus Roshan Digital Accounts Being Opened Daily: State Bank Of Pakistan
Islamabad: Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir disclosed that over 1,000 accounts are being opened daily under Roshan Digital Account (RDA) programme for overseas Pakistanis, according to news published.
The SBP governor, while briefing Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on the progress made in the Roshan Digital Account, stated that total 204,000 accounts have been opened under the RDA initiative. The prime minister, in response, associated the rise in accounts with improved confidence of non-resident Pakistanis in the initiative.
Last month, it was mentioned that RDA crossed the USD 2 billion mark, making it a huge accomplishment. Under this program, the SBP (with the help of 8 major banks in the country) launched a digital banking system through which Pakistanis can avail the banking facility in their home country. In addition to this, the overseas Pakistanis will not have to visit banks to open accounts.
